The upcoming fifth season of "Suits" will feature NBA player Charles Barkley. The basketball star will be playing the role of Pearson Specter Litt's newest client.
According to Christian Today, Barkley, who will be playing himself in the third episode of "Suits" season 5, is excited for the opportunity because he is a huge fan of the show.
"It's really cool for me, because when they heard me bragging about the show they invited me and I was like, 'I gotta make this work.' Right now with playoffs we're in our busy time and the only day we have off is Friday... My day off, we're going up there to Toronto," he told The Hollywood Reporter.
Meanwhile, "Suits" creator Aaron Korsh, is equally excited to have Barkley on board in the upcoming season of the hit series, revealing that he himself is a huge fan of the athlete.
"Often I get asked to put people in the show as cameos, but when I heard Charles say he is a fan of the show, to me it's very personal. I'm a huge basketball fan, I always have been. And in particular a Barkley fan. We had to get him on," he told the publication.
In other news, "The Assets" star Christina Cole was also tapped to guest star in the upcoming season of "Suits." According to TV Line, Cole will play the character of Dr. Paula Agard, a psychiatrist who graduated from Harvard.
Meanwhile, the official synopsis of "Suits" season 5 was previously released by USA Network and it stated that the premiere episode will chronicle Pearson's hard-fought victory from season 4.
