Fans should rejoice because Person of Interest Season 5 is confirmed by CBS! The latest season will have a 13 episode runtime instead of full season. This resulted for the fans of the CBS show to speculate that Person of Interest Season 5 might be last season of the show.

Following the end of Person of Interest Season 4, people are questioning whether the show will be renewed by CBS or will be cancelled. The fans got there answer a couple of days after saying that the show will be renewed, along with other CBS shows, but instead of a full season, there will only be 13 episodes.

Will Person of Interest Season 5 be the end of the war?

CBS President Nina Tassler said that they're still in talks whether the show's fifth season will its conclusion after its five season run.

"We're having those conversations with the team right now. Jonah Nolan and Greg Plageman came in and pitched really terrific ideas for the new season. We have to see." She added, "It's always been a very smart, creative show; we don't know yet whether it's going to be the end or not. If it is, we'll have a great ending."

Now that's pretty confusing. There seems to be hope for another season/s but the last sentence kind of negates it. But whatever the decision, we will just have wait for CBS for the final say.

For now, according to executive producer Jonah Nolan, the fifth season of Person of Interest will be about the protagonists "on the run" when the story resumes, and when Finch is forced to decide "how he's going to rehabilitate [the Machine] and what powers he wants it to have in its new incarnation."

Nolan also added, "Their cover identities have not been blown, as far as we know; they're still very much hiding in plain sight from Samaritan," Nolan says. "But the world around them - it may look the same when we come back next season, but underneath the hood, something very drastic has changed."

Executive producer Plageman describes the incoming fifth season as "a rebuilding [one] for our characters. They've been protected to this point by this all-seeing eye of the Machine, and they're now responsible for trying to rebuild that machine, so they're much more vulnerable than we've seen them before. It's going to be a harrowing season."

Warner Bros. television drama Person of Interest Season 5 will air on CBS in midseason 2016.
