Even with a rigorous fight against Lyme disease and lots of speculations lately that she and Chad Kroeger finally parted ways, Canadian singer Avril Lavigne remains resilient and positive despite all. In fact, she hopes for the best that she will be stronger and healthier after her disease battle. Considering how grave her condition is, how did she manage to endure so far? What are the hurdles she has overcome? How about her relationship with her beau Chad Kroeger after all? Get to know more about the Canadian singer as she currently battles with the disease that has also impaired "Real Housewives" star Yolanda Foster.
The "Let Me Go" singer Avril Lavigne and her husband and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger have been the focus of every publication in 2014 and until earlier this year as they were reported to have divorced after months of no photos together. With no statements from the two singers, the rumor has stuck its claw profoundly on the circulation and everyone has assumed that their relationship was already fractured. But now that Lavigne has spoken and voiced what had become of her these past few months, the speculations seem to be rearing back.
It was last month when Avril Lavigne first shared the news with People Magazine that she had been battling Lyme disease and had been bedridden for five months because she was trying to recover from the illness. According to Daily Mail UK, since summer of last year, the singer initially felt the symptoms of the disease such as fatigue and shortness of breath but she didn't know what was pestering her. She decided to go on from doctor-to-doctor but due to the lack of their specialization, these doctors had told her it was just dehydration and exhaustion, but the singer knew better than that.
The "Here's To Never Growing Up" hitmaker also exclaimed in an interview with ABC News that the search for her diagnosis is "unacceptable" and "frustrating." Later on, she found someone who had the knack to tell her that she has the Lyme disease, which she got from a tick bite. She also revealed that it took her eight months to get diagnosed properly. The same condition has also made "Real Housewives" star Yolanda Foster unable to read, write or watch television. Apparently, Lavigne sought out the help of Foster and had gained a lot of perspective about fighting the disease.
And now that she's recovering from the disease, the singer only hopes for the best. "I've never had this much down time, so it's been good in that sense. And I'mm really just choosing to look at the positives," she told ABC.
However, despite of the fact that the public already know her grave condition, the rumors that she and her husband Chad Kroeger have divorced are very insistent. And to finally squash the speculations, the couple shared a vacation selfie together via Instagram just this month. In the image, the two can be seen sticking their tongues out for the camera. This implies that Lavigne's condition is getting better thanks to the support of her friends and family; she seems to be on a series of holidays now. In fact, her husband Kroeger confirmed in an interview that her wife is doing fine. "I'm like, 'OK the wife has come out and said this and now I don't have to keep hiding,'" he admitted.
Since the "Complicated" singer's spirits are bolstering up, her plans after the disease battle should come one way or another. In an interview with Billboard magazine, the Canadian songstress gushed that she's ready to step back into the spotlight and is ready for some "passion projects." Lavigne also teased her upcoming project, which is a Christmas album. "I've always wanted to make a Christmas album, but I've never had the time," she said. "That's something I really want to do, so that's going to be next for me," she finished.
Apart from channelling Mariah Carey with her Christmas album plans, Lavigne has some big plans to venture in the movie industry. However, no further announcements have been revealed regarding this move.
Recently, she debuted the music video for her single "Fly" for the Special Olympics. According to the singer, the song took on a new meaning for her while she was sick. The net proceeds of "Fly" from iTunes will go directly to the Special Olympics.
Avril Lavigne has had lots of ordeals lately and somehow, she deserves the full-on spotlight to be directed at her now. Are you a fan of Avril? What are your favorite songs or records from her? Make sure to leave your insights on the comments section below.
