It's official that the longest-running science fiction series in network TV history 'The X-files' will have a revival in 2016. Latest cast update reveals that the two remarkable characters are going to reprise their roles in the show's reboot. David Duchovny expressed his emotion for his comeback, while the William confirmed his return for the six-episode miniseries.
Although we have to wait a little, at least we are sure that 'The X-Files' will return on Sunday January 24th, 2016 at 10 p.m. Unlike before, 2016 'The X-Files' will be six-episode miniseries. Previous reports already hinted that many actors and actresses are set to return for the upcoming revival.
Latest 'The X-Files' cast update revealed that the 2 of the remarkable characters we have seen before are also returning the show for the miniseries-David Duchovny and William Davis.
After receiving the script and read the first few pages, actor David Duchovny was emotional. The script literally brought him to tears. Aside from that, he also spoiled that the revival will feature a mix of standalone mysteries and overarching mythology that run throughout the original series.
David also expressed his excitement for the reunion with several original cast members to film the new 'X-Files' this June.
Before 2016, we will get to see the Golden Globe winning star in summer series 'Aquarius' premiering June 4. He will reprise his role as Los Angeles police sergeant Sam Hodiak.
Aside from Duchovny, the Cigarette Smoking Man is also appearing The X-Files revival. The character played by William B. Davis was officially confirmed by the actor himself. He was known for the Cigarette Smoking Man during its original run from 1993 to 2002. He was one of the characters appeared in the very first episode of the sci-fi series.
