With regards to the PS4 Slim, there seems to be a strong glimmer of hope we'd see it this month. No official announcements true, but Sony's launch patterns could be our best vintage point - an ace card if you may. On the other end, those who have patiently been watching and waiting for any telltale signs of the introduction of the next PlayStation iteration, jump. There is accumulating evidence we may be seeing the amazing product sooner than expected.
Given the fact that PS4 has been doing a remarkable round tallying in a 20-million mark in sales (plus/minus), and with Sony's habit of launching a slimmer version after the strong showing of its popular gaming consoles, there is prodigious amount of talk that the slimmer version of the console will be outed this June 16, in time for the 2015 Electronic Expo.
In that case, said launching would happen in Los Angeles, CA specifically in The Los Angeles Convention Center where the expo is to be had, and other online publications which have done their own due diligence is looking at an October launching 2015 launching for the PS4 slim.
Nonetheless, considering the possibilities, will lead us to a bigger news that PlayStation's next big thing, PlayStation 5 could be in the works right now.
In a recent posting in its own website, Sony is caught red-handed in the prowl for a "senior game programmer". While that may not sound off to many, the description that follows about the job opening is suspect.
Specifically, it is looking for someone who could work for a possible follow-up for the PlayStation 4 which should lead us to the PlayStation 5, by anybody's count.
Judge for yourselves. Here is the exact text of the posting:
"We have an exciting opportunity at Sony Computer Entertainment of America (PlayStation)," opens the post. "We seek a senior game programmer to assist us in developing a game used for R&D purposes related to our next generation gaming system. For someone passionate about gaming this is a very rare opportunity. After reviewing the below job profile, if this is you, please apply!"
Certainly, this is non-conclusive evidence but the kind of desert scenario where information is scant, it could be equated to torrential rain somehow. Last look, Sony is keeping its cards close to its chest with regards to both the PS4 Slim and the PlayStation 5 eventual introduction.
