Everyone is expecting Winds of Winter really soon. The 6th installment from George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire has been testing the patience of all the fans. But given that the author cancelled some of his engagements this year, he's probably exerting more time and effort for the book to be released the soonest.
Apart from cancelling some of his events, George R.R. Martin has declined writing for the Game of Thrones. Apparently, this takes up a massive amount of his time. Hence, by not accepting that job, he can now focus more on finishing his book. Well, we just have to wait further if the TV series and the book will have something in common or if these will have two very different plots.
Good news though because George R.R. Martin will try to finish Winds of Winter before Game of Thrones Season 6. If that's the case then most people anticipate that the book will be out by next year, sometime during Spring. It is expected however, that the book will feature more characters. Evidently, it would be a real challenge to put all the characters in Game of Thrones. If you look at it, this isn't bad at all. At least we would still be surprised with the story in Winds of Winter as there would be no spoilers from the show.
George R.R. Martin is known to create stories which have amazing twists and unpredictable plot. Hence, even if the fans are running out of patience, most of them are pretty sure that the book is worth the wait.
Winds of Winter could get thousands of plot rumors and speculations, but until we get our hands to the actual book, that's the only time we can answer all those baffling questions in mind. Everybody hopes that George R.R. Martin will be able to finish this long overdue book really soon.
