Fallout 4 is imminent, or at least that's the easy takeaway from a new countdown timer coming courtesy of the successful game's creator, Bethesda.
The gaming company has just recently released a new countdown timer, which features plenty Fallout 4 hallmarks itself, leading fans to believe Bethesda cannot possibly be announcing any other title than the one so highly anticipated.
The countdown timer itself, is made up of an image of an old-timey television screen with the simple words "#PleaseStandBy" appearing. It's a particular screen familiar to plenty of Fallout fans, so it's becoming increasingly more difficult to imagine the teaser is about anything else, according to iDigital Times.
Fans can also find the countdown timer via Bethesda's Twitter account, as the company also had a link there pointing to the teaser site. Details about Fallout 4 are still scarce at the moment, but there are interesting rumors hinting at what fans can expect from the new game.
According to The Verge, one of the seemingly more credible rumors surrounding the game, suggests that the newest installment could be set in the city of Boston. If the rumor holds up, Boston does figure to be an interesting host city for all the madness Fallout games typically contain, and it would certainly be fun to see how the cityscape looks when overrun by pure chaos.
As for other news related to the game, while the countdown timer would seemingly indicate that the official announcement of Fallout 4 could be coming June 3, some are still speculating that won't be the case.
With E3 looming just a few weeks away, some are saying Bethesda could hold off on revealing too much about Fallout 4 for now, and simply save the big news for the conference. It would make sense, given Bethesda will hold its first-ever press briefing at this year's E3, according to Polygon.
If no big news comes out June 3, fans won't have to wait that long, with E3 set to begin on June 14.
