Android M is here and with a blast! If you have been waiting for the longest time for your Android Lollipop update- especially Android 5.1 - for your Nexus device then perhaps it's high time you go high gear and get a taste of Android M. And fast!
It's no secret that many Nexus fans - Nexus 9 most especially - have been wanting to have their share of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop updates. To no avail. At least to this very day.
Reportedly, Nexus 7 fans are already enjoying the benefits of Android 5.1.1 build but contrary to its ascendancy as the leader of the pack being the latest iteration of Nexus smartphones, Nexus 9 is swept aside into the corner, unable to get its fair share of the update.
Which is rather frustrating - if not downright insulting - given the fact that Nexus is a certified Google product. It has for reasons not divulged by the Search King been largely left unattended.
But not for long. At least when you talk about the next big thing in the Android world, Android M, Google's next version of Android unveiled in the recent Google I/O Developer Conference 2015.
What to expect: a better more responsive Google Now personal assistant packed with contextual searches, better battery life. And that's just for starters. Being a whole new fortified OS, it would certainly be a pleasant surprise to explore.
The good news is for Nexus 9 as well as for Nexus 5, Nexus 6 and Nexus Player users they may already take a peek as the Developer Preview can be installed on their devices. With the proper procedure that is.
Of course, the full consumer-available version will not be available until later this year by earliest count. One should note therefore that since what is available is the Developer Preview, it's meant to be rough at the edges and not a fully-developed OS.
No worries, though, should you find the Android M Preview too inconsistent, you can as easily revert to your old system, reinstall Android Lollipop in a breeze. No problem!
Warning: Just so you know, this is virgin territory and improper procedures could brick your device. Then again, the beautiful upgrade only belongs to the brave. At least, you get your hands full and not wait in vain for OTA updates that take the longest time to arrive.
