Appearances are deceiving and Leonardo DiCaprio's rumored love affair with R&B princess Rihanna is fast fading by the minute. Sure, they had wonderful, sleazy moments together in the past - Riri's 27th birthday party including - and maybe keeping each other's company when time permits every once in a while but they never admitted being a couple. Yes, not one admission from both ends. Public, we mean.
No, not because they don't like each other, but because they won't commit. Or can't. Or is it just Leo?
No doubt, these two super-famous celebrities would rack countless reads for many tabloids online and offline and right from the get-go since they hit it off early January rumors spread like wild fire about their love affair. But with both denying any serious relationship, it's as mysterious as it gets.
Of course there's a cadre of spin doctors trying to make each superstar as appealing to the masses as possible which would mean a silent media war of unheard-of-proportions, one side outing the other. Not to mention that both celebrities are super-busy and getting them in one place at the same time is already a challenge. Perhaps why Leo wanted a movie project for the both of them.
Just last month May, several reports indicate that the super-duo are trying to mend their relationship and that the "Four Five Seconds" singer is wooing back Leo after being spotted in Drake's arms at Coachella. In short, rekindling their romance.
And it gets deeper even more. It is said the Good Girl Gone Bad singer is wooing the Wolf of Wall Street actor intensely being so obsessed with him. But the 40-something actor is non-committal. Still Riri is at it, hoping against hope.
During that time, one acute observer privy to both shared, "Right now, they pretty much just hook up and go to each other's houses late at night, but Rihanna's holding out hope that Leo will eventually commit."
The result: The Hollywood heartthrob has reportedly sent a limo bearing a bunch of roses for the "Diamonds" singer complete with an "I Love You" card on May 6 right before they hit the road. Sounds things are getting cozier, right?
Wrong. Though they were later seen together at the Big Apple's celebrity hot spot The Game that Wednesday, the 27-year old Barbadian beauty was soon seen leaving the spot with Drizzy more commonly known as Drake, the famous rapper who was previously linked to the beauteous Grammy Award winner.
Wow! But we're just getting started. Not to be outdone, the suave Leo is back to his old self, dating models. His latest catch: supermodel Kelly Rohrbach, 24. The new love birds were spotted dining at Hampton's hot spot, Nick & Toni's on May 31 surrounded with friends. Moving fast, DiCaprio reportedly rented out a $5,000-a-night six-bedroom mansion to be alone with his new sexy supermodel. Touche!
So whether this intensely hot Leo-Riri love affair is going to stick is anybody's guess. As the case with super-famous people, finding company for the night is not a major problem. If ever they end up in each other's arms for keeps, only Leonardo DiCaprio and Rihanna can tell.
