Homeland is set to return with its fifth season and it looks like a lot of new stuff is in store for the fans of the show. Aside from new location, new characters will also be introduced on the upcoming season of the show.
Just like the previous seasons the fifth season will also observe a time jump and will pick up three years after the happening of season four. Also, with Carrie and Quinn parting ways and Quinn moving to Berlin season five will be primarily shot in Berlin, Germany. The show's executive producer-director Alex Gansa had revealed that Claire Danes' character Carrie Mathison won't be playing the role of an intelligence officer anymore.
Furthermore, Showtime had also announced three new cast for the season five, the new characters namely; Miranda Otto who will play the role of Allison Carr, Sebastian Koch and Sarah Sokolovic who will play the role of an unnamed American Journalist in Berlin where Carrie and Jonas are employed.
According to reports one of the new casts, Alexander Fehling will be playing a character named Jonas Happich a lawyer and Carrie's boyfriend on the season 5. Meanwhile Koch's character Otto will play the role of a German Philanthropist and Carrie's boss. Miranda Otto will portray the role of Allison Carr a Berlin chief of station working directly under Saul.
The previous season, which was set Pakistan, received a huge amount of criticisms from Pakistani officials due to its portrayal of the country's government and its officials.
Homeland who was one of the most successful series on its season premier suffered from major decrease of viewership on its second and third episode but after some changes the season managed to gain back its audience during its fourth season and we're hoping it'll continue on season 5.
Homeland is set to comeback around September or October of 2015
