Bungie has released on Tuesday the latest patch update for the first person shooter game Destiny. The game also kicked off a week-long Iron Banner event which brings a completely new set of gear for players to earn.
Whilst there are numerous updates which came with the latest Destiny patch such as bug fixes in the Prison of Elders, issue resolution for the Trials of Osiris emblems not being sent to the Postmaster if emblem inventory is full, correcting the awarding of Weekly Heroic strike rewards, and other game play updates, nothing is more noticeable and appreciated, than the fact that this update means an increased drop rate of treasure keys for everyone as reported by VG247.
Kotaku reports that since Destiny's House of Wolves expansion pack launched in mid-May, the drop-rate for treasure keys hasn't been great, but it looks like that's about to change. The 1.2.0.2 patch will guarantee treasure key drops for the first Wanted Fallen Bounty you finish each week. Bungie is also boosting the drop-rate for keys from Ether Chests and in the small chests at the end of the Prison of Elders.
Another exciting Destiny update is the Iron Banner event which will introduce a new set of gears as implied by Gamezone. This week-long PvP event is the first Iron Banner event since the launch of the House of Wolves expansion. Highlights of the event includes lower-ranked Guardians receiving reputation boost to catch up to the player's higher-ranked Guardian more quickly, rewards costing less glimmer and Etheric Light being available for purchase at Rank 3 and Rank 5. Other inclusions are the gunsmith inheriting Lord Saladin's weapon forging service, and the addition of Cauldron and Pantheon to the playlist, along with Exodus Blue on PlayStation. The Iron Banner enables level advantages, meaning your defense rating and attack rating will affect how much damage you take and inflict.
All these have brought exciting changes and improvements to Bungie's Destiny. Game fans are definitely going to have a great time going through the Iron Banner event and collecting bounties and rewards.
