Capcom's Resident Evil's Zero, known as Biohazard 0 in Japan, is also getting an HD remaster for last-gen consoles, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One. The upgrade on the original 2002 version is slated for release early next year, 2016.

The original Resident Evil Zero was an action-packed, horror genre survival game released for the Nintendo GameCube platform. Christian Today stated that the plot for the game served as the backstory to the events following the first Resident Evil. It is set in an apocalyptic setting wherein serial murders take place and zombies abound. Players get to swap all throughout the gameplay between two major characters: the medic Rebecca Chambers and ex-con as well as war expert Billy Coen.

The game's widespread success led to minimal revisions and upgrades over the years as new platforms emerged and developed, however it was constantly featured and revered as a classic zombie game. The high-definition remaster of Zero is definitely a must-try, although the announced 2016 release was only confirmed in Japan, according to Gamespot. A release date for other countries has yet to be declared.

This recent development in the Resident Evil franchise was probably sparked by the success of the HD remastering of the first Resident Evil game. According to Gamerheadlines, Resident Evil HD also became a record-breaking game, dubbed on the PlayStation network as "biggest-selling day one digital title". It was also Capcom's fastest selling game, grossing over a million copies sold ever since its January release earlier this year.

The Resident Evil Remastered HD features a better texture and realism to the graphics, light and color fixes, among a wide range of improvements that foster better quality of gameplay. After a 13 year gap, players have a lot to look forward to while still remaining true to the heart of the original Zero game.
