Robin Williams Estate Settlement Update: Widown and children still in dispute; Court sets deadline to resolve beneficiaries arguments

By

Robin Williams' estate settlement is postponed while the beneficiaries squabble over list of personal belongings.

Settlement is supposed to be due on the 1st of June. But according to the report of NZCity news, Susan Williams, Robin's widow, and his three children from previous wives are still fighting over splitting some personal items which are claimed to be rightfully belonging to Zak, Zelda and Cody. A source told the newspaper that it is sad to note that despite Susan being given enough for her to live life comfortably in her lifetime, the widow seemed to be lacking contentment with what Robin left for her and continuously claims for more. Susan argued beforehand that the trust of Robin was vague though the kids were resolute that it was very clear. The children were affected but were hoping that this issue could be solved. However, the kids would not contradict their late dad's wishes.

On another report from Trust Advisor website, Steven Maimes posted that On Monday the lawyers returned to the courtroom of San Francisco Superior Court Judge Andrew Y.S. Cheng. The Judge instructed the two layers of the feuding parties "to seek mediation over a list of 1,200 items" last March.

After 2 months of doing the mediation, Atty. James Wagstaffe, Susan Williams' lawyer, told Judge Cheng that his client still has about 300 items in her possession. In addition, Atty. Wagstaffe also requested the estate lawyer Atty. Andrew A. Bassak a new appraisal of the couple's Tiburon home.

With that request, Atty. Bassak told the judge that he felt perplexed on whether the two parties will arrive with an agreement. Bassak also commented that the widow of Williams and her legal team are attempting to dismiss him as the trustee of Williams' Estate.

The lawyer of Williams' children, Atty. Merideth Bushnell, supported the statement of Atty. Bassak who also said earlier that Schneider Williams' legal team was using delaying tactics. Atty. Bushnell told Judge Cheng that her clients have waited so long but still there was no agreement made yet. But Atty. Wagstaffe did not answer those allegations from other party.

According to the report of IndiaAtMelbourne, Atty. Bushnell disclosed to the media some of the 300 personal items that are still in the possession of Susan Williams. Some of those are clothes, entertainment awards, and some artworks. It is a known fact that after the demise of Robin Williams in August 2014, the famous actor left most of his properties to his three children that includes the Napa County home and property.

While the dispute continues, San Francisco Superior Court Judge gave the two parties until July 29th to finally solve their disagreement.
