"Frozen" was a hit movie from Disney and due to the popular demand, the film will be having a sequel. "Frozen 2" is reportedly already in the works although not much details are available, it has been revealed that the movie will be out by 2018 and that the screenwriting for the animated film has already started.
"Frozen 2" does not have a lot of details available regarding the development process but the script is already in the works according to a report by Christian Today. There have also been numerous rumors regarding the plot details of the film such as Prince Hans returning to redeem himself and that the sisters, Queen Elsa and Princess Anna, are to embark on a new journey to battle a new villain.
For the villain, it has been rumored that since Queen Elsa has the ability to control ice, the enemy will be controlling fire. Disney has not yet commented on the cast members of the animated movie but it was reported that Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell will still be returning to voice the characters of Elsa and Anna respectively. Olaf and Kristoff are expected to be in the sequel of the film.
John Lasseter, the Chief Creative Officer for Walt Disney and Pixar Animations Studios, confirmed the release date in an interview with Variety. However, he did not give away other details regarding the plot of the film. Working in the film are directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee teaming up with producer Peter Del Vecho.
Before the sequel of the film, a short called "Frozen Fever" was released by Disney and it has been a success as well. Lasseter pointed out that the team had a great time creating the animated short but it will be all the more challenging to create a great plot and story for the sequel but he hinted that there will be so many things featured in the new film as fans will be taken back to the land of Arendelle.
Along with the 2018 release date of "Frozen 2" are other Disney films such as "Moana." It is not yet clear when exactly will "Frozen 2" be released on 2018 as Disney CEO Robert Iger noted that they do not want to rush the sequel as they want to achieve excellence and live up to the first film released by the company.
