"Suffragette" is to be out in theatres by October and the trailer for the movie tackling the British Feminist Movement has been released. The movie will be starring Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, and Meryl Streep as they show the events in England back in 1912 when women struggled to fight for their right to vote.

The trailer of "Suffragette" was released in time to coincide with the premiere of the BFI London Film Festival in different news outlets reports IBTimes. The director of the film, Sarah Gavron, is part of the festival that runs from October 7-18.

In the trailer released, there were three notable scenes that fans should be watching out for. One was when Streep was seen wearing a regal Edwardian Era clothing. The character of Streep is very important as she played a very iconic and historical figure identified as Emmeline Pankhurst. She was one of the women who fought against the Parliament to allow women over 21 to vote. However, Pankhurst passed away weeks before the law was passed.

Carey Mulligan was also seen in the trailer and her character is the focus of the sneak peek. Mulligan's character will be the center of the movie as she is a working wife and a mother but turns into becoming an activist. Mulligan's character was affected and radicalized by Pankhurst, according to Idependent. The trailer also showed the well-to-do feminists and the working class women fighting for their right and even resorting to violence.

The feminists tried to speed up the process of letting them vote by throwing bricks during protests and even blowing up mailboxes, which resulted to gaining attention and their tactics were able to help them win regarding the cause they are fighting for.

"Sufragette" is the story of women risking everything for their right to vote under the 20th century Britain. The movie will be out in theatres nationwide by October.
