X-Files, one of the most beloved and popular series way back in 1993 is about to comeback to the small screen. Updates regarding the show and its new casts and characters have been recently revealed and we have compiled the latest news just for you.
According to reports, Joel Mchale who was known for his funny character in the popular TV series Community will be joining the upcoming TV show as a gurst star. The 43 years old actor will be playing the role Ted O'Mailey, a right-news anchor who works for an internet news channel. Speculations has it that Mchale's character is going to become FBI agent Fox Mulder's "unlikely alley".
The show is being written by X-Files writer Chris Carter and it seems like the six-part series will be a mixture of "monsters and mythology" and is likely to go back and present the same things the original X-files had presented such as alien conspiracy, vampires and werewolves.
According to recent reports, David Duchovny who portrays the role FBI agent Fox Mulder admitted that he got emotional after reading the scripts given to him. Duchovny had stated that it wasn't really story of the script that had made him emotional but fact that after years of planning the remake of the hit series has been finally pushed through.
"Now it's the fun part. Now we actually get to do it. That was nice and strangely emotional for me and I'll have to figure out how to use that." Duchovny had stated.
A recent report has it that the remake's second episode will be entitled "Home Again" probably a sequel to the highly praised 1996 original episode entitled Home which followed a case of a dead infant buried in a field near the town of Home, Pennsylvania to which later they had discovered was a product of an incest between three brothers and their quadruple-amputee mother who lives under the bed.
The X-Files had originally premiered on 1993 and revolved around the story of FBI Agents Mulder and Scully and the paranormal cases they are solving.
The X-Files will be returning to the small screen on January 24, 2016 on Fox Channel.
