Castle is about to comeback with season 8 and it looks like some major changes are about to happen. Penny Johnson who is known among fans as Captain Victoria Iron Gates had recently announced her departure from the show.
Recently actress Penny Johnson had announced on her twitter account that she won't be reprising her role in the popular series Castle, "To my Castle Fans around the world, as of late yesterday I am surprised to learn that I will no longer be a part of the Castle family. Thank you all for your support and love. Hugs from PJJ" her post, reads.
Rumor has it that this sudden exit of Johnson from the show is not her decision and a result of "creative changes" that the writers of the show has been doing. A report had suggested that this sudden change might be because of Stana Katic's character Kate Beckett taking over 12th precinct and becoming the new boss. Although the previous season had suggested another path for Kate given that she passed her captain's exam and was considering running for the senate position, fans might have to wait until season eight and see which path Kate would really take.
Meanwhile after a lot of speculations regarding her comeback to the show Stana Katic had recently announced that she would be coming back for the new season after a talk with the TV show's new writers and her former colleagues Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley. Winter and Hawley replaced the previous writers Andrew Marlow and Terri Miller.
Katic had also expressed her excitement for the upcoming season, "I'm excited about the future plans for Beckett and delighted for a Season 8 with Castle," Katic stated.
ABC's President Paul Lee assured fans that Castle (as well as Grey's Anatomy) will still have a long, long way to go for it conclusion given that both according to Lee has "powerful, vibrant brands" and "incredibly passionate audiences".
Although exact dates still hasn't been announced, Castle is set return to ABC in the fall.
