Verizon Rumored to Launch Lumia 735 on 11 June; New Windows 8.1 Updates for Lumia 735 Includes Bluetooth Keyboard Support and WiFi calling

Verizon, one of the biggest telcos in the US, is set to launch the Lumia 735 on 11 June.

A recent leak allegedly shows an internal Verizon company system proving the planned release of the Lumia 735. Verizon has yet to make an official announcement on the release, or confirmation regarding the Microsoft phone's pricing or offer detail.

Verizon released the LG Lancet, a Windows phone targeting the low-end market. The Lumia 735, on the other hand, is a mid-range priced Windows phone so it makes perfect sense for the company to offer the phone.

It is highly possible that the Verizon-launched Lumia 735 will carry the latest Windows 8.1 version out-of the-box since Microsoft came out with the GDR2 - Windows Phone General Distribution Release 2 - update for the handset not so long ago. The Lumia 735, along with the Lumia 830, Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL, is already sporting the latest build 15148 in the United Kingdom. France and Italy will receive the build roll out next.

Even though Windows 10 handsets will come out towards the end of the year, the newest update shows Microsoft will continue to support the Windows 8.1 phones. The update introduces improvements such as Bluetooth keyboard support, Wi-Fi calling and a newly-organized settings menu that groups common settings together. The full details are listed on the Microsoft website.

Launched last 2014 September, the Lumia 735 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU, an Adreno 305 GPU, and 1GB RAM.

This 4.7-inch LTE-ready smartphone has an internal memory of 8GB which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD. It comes with a 6.7MP Carl Zeiss main camera and a 5MP secondary camera. A removable 2200 mAH battery provides power to this Windows 8.1 unit.

The Lumia 735 is 134.7 x 68.5 x 8.9mm in dimension and is light at 134g. There are plans to have it use the Windows 10 platform in the future.
