It's been a long known fact that Indiana Jones is definitely coming back for its fifth installment. And while is also a known fact that director Stephen Spielberg has talked about reliving the most-coveted archaeologist and is already in the works for the script with Philip Kaufman and George Lucas, is also known that Disney will be backing the film. It bought Lucasfilm last 2012 for 4 million dollars and this will be the first ever film that Disney will make over Lucasfilm.
While there had been no story, no production crew and nothing to start it all with, let's take first a rundown of the most probable stars that will play for the iconic role of Indiana Jones. Here's a list as told by Tim Mack on Fansided.
Of course, the list will have to go as Harrison ford versus the others. The original must be first.
Harrison Ford has always been linked with Indiana Jones, if not of course with Han Solo. He was the actor of the original series, and he could still be a perfect pick. More so, he's also returning for the upcoming 'Star Wars' film to reprise his role. And considering it's a Disney film, the role is not far from him.
Besides, he's also showed his openness for a reprise in the role.
Though, one problem is that Ford is already 73 years old. And if he plays Indiana Jones it's either he'll be a mentor. But it'll be an entirely new series if it has to be another actor to fill the role.
The next one hottest on the list is 'Guadrians of the Galaxy' Starlord Chris Pratt. Starlord is actually not far from being an extractor of a hidden artifact, that's why Pratt playing the Indy role is not that difficult to take.
Though, Pratt has already been into several other projects and there will be no time for him to play another role. He's been so hot in the action-fantasy-adventure streak right now, with Guardians 2 and 3 and another Jurassic. So he just went on with a polite pass and denied the rumors.
Following the list is Bradley Cooper. Cooper has been known for both his thriller and romcom movies. But his performance in American Sniper is stupendous, and it showed he also can be our Indy. More so, he's also starred as the comedic character Face in the A-Team. He's voiced the raccoon named Rocket in the Guardians, so he might just be as 'busy' as Pratt is.
The fourth on the list is Jason Sudeikis, a great comedic actor but hasn't really had established his name in the action field. But there's no doubt in comedy. He's starred in 'We are the Millers' and 'horrible Bosses'. He could chop in for a more comedic Indiana Jones.
Fifth is Chris Pine, the sexy, endearing captain of the enterprise Captain Kirk in 'Star Trek'. Pine has also starred in the action thriller 'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit', which has also been once a role played by Ford. More so, considering that Star Trek has the same director for Star Wars and Lucasfilm and Disney is very connected with it so he might not be that far for the role. Pine could be perfect for the film if they don't want their main star to overshadow it, except of course his high sex appeal.
Who do you think should play Indiana Jones? How will Spielberg and Disney treat this new installment in this very well loved series? We'll have to find out soon.
