Apple WWDC 2015 is a highlight yearly calendar for the company opens today at 6 P.M. UK time in Moscone West, San Francisco. This evening's event opening marks the beginning of a 5-day annual-get together for the company's software partners, and expectations are high for new product announcements and upgrades.
Traditionally a range of new products are unveiled at the WWDC, and this Apple 2015 event would be no different. Expected highlights include the release of new iOS versions and OS X, as well as new technology compatible with the said software, and the apps these technology creates. Apple Design Awards is also one part of the event that will be watched.
New iOS and OS X, along with new technology, are expected to be presented and discussed before developers participating in the WWDC. This is in line with Apple's announcement e-mail, where "Apple's renowned developer community will come together to learn about the future of iOS and OS X, helping them continue to create the most innovative apps in the world."
The kind of next generation apps the new technology that will be shared with developers, and the world, at the WWDC will create and support will surely be part of the discussion, as Apple SVP of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller had hinted.
The WWDC 2015 live coverage can be watched on Mac, iPad, or iPhone. Viewers simply have to go to apple.com/live using Safari browser to watch the show tonight. The browser must have any of these versions: Safari 6.0.5 or later on OS X 10.8.5 or later, or the version of Safari that comes with iOS 6.0 or later.
It can also be watched via Apple TV, an Apple product that is highly-anticipated to make an appearance in this year's WWDC. The announcement is shown at the WWDC channel. Second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 6.2 or later supports streaming. PC and Android users can also watch the keynote livestream through VLC. 9TO5 Mac tells how VLC decodes the livestream.
The Apple WWDC 2015 starts today and ends on June 12. New versions of Mac and maybe an iPad may also be introduced as Apple had in the previous WWDC events. Women presenter could also be seen this year after Tim Cook put an emphasis on diversity in an interview. And interestingly, the event could also highlight the growing gap between Apple and Google, as one tech website has claimed.
