"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 might see a different Sheldon Cooper following the events during the last episode of season 8, where the fans saw him got dumped by Amy. More relationship dramas will be highlighted in the new season, which will premiere this fall.

Following Amy's decision to leave him, Sheldon Cooper might display a different side of him, his vulnerable side to be specific, in "The Big Bang Theory" season 9.

Cinemablend reports that during the ultimate episode of season 8, Amy (Mayim Bialik) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) are having a harmless argument about CW's "The Flash," which eventually led into talks about commitment. The argument became a heated one and made Amy think that she needs to "reevaluate" their situation. At the end of the episode, the two broke up via video chat.

To make it more heartbreaking, Sheldon gets an engagement ring sitting inside his drawer, indicating that he is planning on popping the question to Amy.

It was a sad episode for the fans of the couple who have experienced sexual frustrations and a lot of misunderstandings throughout their relationship.

With the events in the season 8 finale, it seems the ninth season will center on the relationships of the characters in the show.

Master Herald reports that, showrunner Steve Molaro plans to prolong Sheldon and Amy's breakup until towards the end "The Big Bang Theory season 9" while deciding whether Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) will get married. Raj (Kunal Nayyar) and his relationship with Emily (Laura Spencer) will also be tested due to the former's problem with communicating with women.

The hit sitcom made it to CBS's new fall schedule, reports Variety. The whole gang will return on September along with a new family show titled, "Life in Pieces."

Diehards of "The Big Bang Theory" may finally see Sheldon Cooper's vulnerable side after Amy left him in season 8. Relationships of other cast members will also be highlighted when the show returns for its ninth season on September 21, Monday, 8PM on CBS.
