The Last Guardian could be coming to E3, as well a new Nintendo account system

The long lost Playstation game, The Last Guardian, could finally make an appearance at this year's highly anticipated E3.

E3 has always been one of the toughest events to get a read on, but industry insiders are saying it is going to be the re-launching pad for what many have thought to be an already lost game.

Video game fans have likely heard about The Last Guardian at one point or another.

Unveiled back in E3 2009, The Last Guardian was meant to be the successor to the critically-acclaimed Shadow of the Colossus, but it has yet to truly get on track, to say the least, according to Game Rant.

Ever since The Last Guardian was shown to the masses in 2009, it has gotten stuck in development over at Team ICO and various pitfalls along the way have even threatened to wipe the game out altogether. Development of The Last Guardian had gotten stagnant to the point that its trademark was abandoned on two separate occasions.

Regardless of the delays, industry insiders are saying the game is more than likely to appear at the event. Fans should temper their expectations however, as the game is not likely to be exactly as it was when it was unveiled all those years ago, according to The Guardian.

While the industry seems to be preparing for The Last Guardian, they also seem more mystified than ever by Nintendo.

According to Metro UK, more is known about what Nintendo will not do at E3 than it is about what they will do at the event.

Nintendo has already said they will refrain from talking about their NX console, leaving the door open for any number of announcements at the proceedings. Speculation is growing that Nintendo could use E3 to formally launch their new Nintendo Account system which will take the place of Club Nintendo.

For now, fans can only wait for what will ultimately be revealed at E3.
