With the twelfth season finale of the police procedural drama television series "NCIS" leaving fans wondering what will happen next, one of the executive producers hinted recently that some major surprises will be featured in the thirteenth season. Meanwhile, it is still unknown whether Agent Gibbs has survived the shot or has met his demise already.
Executive producer Gary Glasberg sat down with The Hollywood Reporter (via Vinereport) to dish out some details on the thirteenth season of "NCIS." Glasberg said that some major surprises are in store for the viewers when the premiere airs this November.
"As you know, I like to surprise people a little. As we get closer to November, we will pull the rug out from under people and try something different," he teased. The season twelve ended with a cliffhanger, Agent Gibbs being shot, which most people already know. According to the executive producer, the reason behind the cliffhanger was to keep the fans off-balance and unsure of the show's direction.
Speaking of the major cliffhanger, Glasberg revealed that season thirteen will let fans know what will be the fate of Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, played by Mark Harmon, when he was shot by Luke Pisccheda. Somehow, he did not drop any cues on what will happen to the character.
In a report by Ecumenical News, actor Mark Harmon also didn't make it clear when he told FOX on what will happen to the fan favorite Agent Gibbs. "I really believe this, but I think anybody in the show is replaceable. The truth births, characters leaving. It always has, and I always think there's always been a creative footprint on the show. I think it keeps actors healthy," he stressed.
CBS'"NCIS" was dubbed as the second longest-running scripted non-animated TV show in the US. With its prominence, the production has even engendered two spin-offs: "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "NCIS: New Orleans."
