Sherlock season 4 is still yet to come with its premier date airing on 2017 with its filming to start around spring of 2016. However a recent report has it that the production team had prepared one episode for the fans of the show.
The special episode which was filmed early of this year will be aired by the end of 2015 or early 2016. According to a recent report this special episode will be picking up around the end of the previous season and will be wrapping up Moriarty's story.
Moriarty who was present on the last episode of season 3 left a great shock among the fans when he hacked every single digital system and left a very intimate note "Miss Me?" (possibly for Sherlock) which was projected around London and made the fans think that the genius villain might have been alive all this time.
The show's executive producer as well as writer Steven Moffat on his recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, provided the fans with updates regarding the special episode, "The special is its own thing," said Moffat. "We wouldn't have done the story we're doing, and the way we're doing it, if we didn't have this special. It's not part of the run of three episodes. So we had this to do it - as we could hardly conceal - it's Victorian. [Co-creator Mark Gatiss] and me, we wanted to do this, but it had to be a special, it had to be separate entity on its own. It's kind of in its own little bubble." Moffat had stated.
Fans are well aware that Dr. Watson married Mary Morstan in season 3 which greatly affected his relationship with Sherlock. Mary was seen pregnant and was on the her last trimester on the last episode of season 3 which made fans excited on how the brilliant Dr. Watson might be as a father but with recent update that season 3 will be set during the Victorian era, it is still a question whether or not fans will see Watson with a baby cradled on his arms.
Sherlock Season 4 is set to comeback in 2017.
