Blue Bloods became one of the hottest topics lately with half of the audience betting that season 5 was the finale of the show and the other half hoping that the increase of viewers would lead to a sixth season. Recently CBS had finally announced that the show would be renewed for another season.

The season finale of the show entitled "Art of War" had left the fans emotional at the same time hanging. Amy Carlson's character Linda was shot and received two shots of the back but despite that she was seen tending Hector who received most of the bullets. Although Hector was rushed to the hospital right away the doctors had failed to save him.

Linda's husband Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) was seen ballistic when he learned of what happened to his wife. Danny, who was known by the fans as a hotheaded and impatient person was held back by John from going inside the operating room to see his wife.

Curtis who was responsible for what happened to Linda and Hector was finally arrested after Frank had forced his mother to give him his locations. Meanwhile Danny was able to save the life of Mario Hunt (whom fans expected him to kill) and managed to made sure that he stays behind the bars for a long time.

Frank on the other hand was seen going to Carter Wallace's prison and informed him that he will be moved to the Federal court system wherein death penalty is being implemented. Frank had assured Wallace that he will be seeing him again....at the execution chamber.

Season 5 ended with family dinner making fans think that this seemingly happy ending might also lead to the show's ending itself.

According to recent reports the latest episode had garnered about 11 million of viewers and got a 1.3 share of the audience, a 10 percent increase compared to its last episode.

CBS has renewed Blue Bloods for season 6 last May 11, 2015.
