With Ethan and Ben's inquisitive nature, they have discovered the truth behind the mysterious town. Episode 6 will likely to answer most questions left unanswered, including the responsibility of First Generation.
'Wayward Pines' Season 1 episode 5 finally gave fans some answers they had been waiting for. The Burkes' inquisitive behavior about Mrs. Fisher made them discovered that the mysterious town is not set on the year that new residents last knew, but it's 4028.
According to IBT, episode 6 will open up a lot of new questions for 'Wayward Pines' despite the answered issues. One of which is the question about the First Generation.
Episode 5 revolved around Ben's orientation at the Academy. Mrs. Fisher revealed the truth to Ben and other students that they are not set in 2014, but 4028. She explained that human civilization is all but extinct. Ben and new kids have to join the First Generation in preserving the town and humanity.
In an interview with TVLine, showrunner Chad Hodge revealed the First Generation was not part of Blake Crouch's 'Wayward Pines' trilogy. He explained that they added it to the show. Crouch also divulged that Ben may later open himself rather than being a loner. But Burkes will still question if 'Wayward Pines' is a bad or a good thing.
Meanwhile, Theresa Burke started her job as the realtor of 'Wayward Pines' in episode 5, giving a house to a new resident Wayne Johnson. Wayne confessed to Theresa that he saw a room filled with sedated people when arriving at 'Wayward Pines'.
In an interview with seattlepi.com, 'Wayward Pines' showrunner pleads that the war between the abbies and the humans should happen anytime soon. But fans have to wait to see.
