True Detective season 2 is a week away from its official premier and updates as well as expectations is starting to increase. According to HBO the upcoming season will be an entirely different story with different plot and different casts and characters.
True detectives season one was a subject to numerous criticisms and issues, one of those is about its depiction on women, girls on the show are either prostitutes or powerless wife or girlfriends which became a subject to a lot of criticisms but it looks like season 2 will make up for that.
Recently it has been confirmed that the show had casted A-list actress Rachel McAdams to portray the role of a fierce and powerful detective. Although her character seems to have an issue with the system as well as rumored to be suffering from alcoholism and gambling problems when she is not on duty.
McAdams will star alongside actors Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell. Farrell will be playing the role of Ray Velcoro a lowly detective who handles the low-profiled cases. Vaughn however will be portraying role of Frank Semyon, a criminal who after trying to live a decent and normal life is now in danger of being put into jail after his business partner was discovered murdered.
According to HBO, season two will revolve around three law enforcers and a career criminal, navigating a "web of conspiracy and betrayal" in "the scorched landscapes of California".
Recently two cases that the lead characters will handle are revealed through teaser videos. One of which involves a missing girl, While McAdams' character is seen very determined to solve the case it seems like nobody is on her side, which is probably why she is on odds with the justice system.
Another case as hinted by HBO with the clues "A city manager" is rumored to be the murder case of Frank Semyon's business partner.
True Detective is set to comeback on June 21 at 9pm on HBO.
