Nashville will be for its fourth season but it seems that the show will be missing a familiar face. It is said that Eric Close will not return to Nashville Season 4 as a series regular.
Eric Close, who portrays the role of Teddy Conrad, is said to be out in Nashville Season 4. For the fans of the show, it is known that Close has been there since season 1. Close's character in the beginning of the show even involved with the main story arcs because he is the husband of Connie Britton's character, Rayna Jaymes, who is one of the main characters in the series.
But later on, Rayna and Teddy divorced but still a series regular with his character involving in the politics arc of the show. He ran for mayor devoted to Nashville politics and then become embroiled in one scandal after another. That led to a shocking finale for Teddy at the end of the show's third season earlier this year, when he was led away in handcuffs after becoming involved with a high-priced escort, then extorting a public official and embezzling funds to pay her off.
According to the reports, the people behind the show said that Teddy Conrad's story isn't needed anymore because they plan to focus on the music business in Nashville for Nashville Season 4.
Although ABC did not comment, TV Line's sources said that there is huge possiblity that Close could still return to guest star in few episodes because his character is still connected to Rayna because of their two children.
Fans of Close can still catch him on another episode of USA's Suits. He will reprise his role as Travis Tanner for one episode in Suits Season 5.
Despite Close's departure, Nashville is on its way to small screens again for another season. In Nashiville Season 4, fans will finally find out if Deacon survives his liver transplant, what will happen to Juliette and Avery's relationship and the new love interest of Luke.
