Call of Duty Black Ops 3 gets a major character addition in the form of an NFL athlete. This would be the first time for an athlete to become part of Activision's title. However, fans are not necessarily bought by this new feature although actual experience of the game would be more reliable. Moreover, the shooter will still support older gen consoles despite the intention of the developer to maximize what the PS4 and Xbox One have to offer.
The NFL player to join Call of Duty Black Ops 3 is none other than Marshawn Lynch who plays as the running back of Seattle Seahawks. According to IGN, Lynch is a fan of the game and says, "The whole game is Beast Mode," where he will take the role of a villain. His character is that of a mercenary in a bar in Singapore. Treyarch has been involved with the athlete by having him do some motion capture acting as well.
Lynch shares his experiences, "I've been in the Super Bowl, movies, music videos, Madden... But to have your own character in Duty is, I mean, it's almost like you arrived."
When it comes to the consoles that Call of Duty: Black Ops III will support, current gen is not the only one the title will reach. Scott Lowe from Activision said on his blog that the title "has been designed to harness the full potential of the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC... However, we know that there are still some fans that haven't made the transition to the new console hardware."
With this in mind, Activision has tied up with Beenox and Mercenary Technology to produce versions for PS3 and the Xbox 360. These will feature multiplayer, zombie, and campaign modes. Nonetheless, fans should note that certain differences will be seen between the platform generations.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is schedules for release in November this year. With the title to support older gen consoles, PS3 and Xbox 360, more gamers will have the chance to enjoy the shooter, which will also feature Marshawn Lynch.
