Korean girl group SISTAR excites the fans with recent uploads of teasers in their personal Instagram accounts.
The members posted their individual photos and urged the fans to guess them with caption "WHO AM I?" along with the name of their band and a hashtag of their supposed character descriptions.
Member Dasom's photo is captioned "birdofprey," Soyou's reads "thequeenofgreen," Hyorin's says "ninelives," and lastly, Bora's picture is labeled "joker."
People who saw the images that are familiar with DC Comics can probably match the members with the individual characters.
Fans point out that Bora resembles Harley Quinn, Soyou as Poison Ivy, Hyorin as Catwoman, and Dasom could be Batgirl although her picture looked too obscure.
Excitement aside, concerned fans are worried that the alleged blatant copying from the characters of the "Batman Series" might result to a huge lawsuit due to copyright infringement.
The strong resemblance of Bora's teaser image to "Suicide Squad's Harley Quinn" receives the most attention especially that the movie has not been released yet.
Korean Netizens commented that, "I think they picked it up because the Harley Quinn edits were such a trend for a while but the problem is that it is a movie character from an unreleased movie and not some general theme they took from a fairy tale or something."
"I think SISTAR's teasers have already 'used up' the new Harley Quinn image just by the discussions here alone. Some people actually think the movie has already been released or has been for a long time," and "Fans doing Harley Quinn edits isn't for commercial profit so it's not a problem... but it's dangerous for a group to use it as an album concept like this," were among the comments.
On the side note, Starship's SISTAR is expected to a standoff with SM Entertainment's global girl group Girls' Generation who is also releasing their first ever Korean album on the same month since ex-member Jessica's departure from the group.
SISTAR's third mini-album will be released on various music stores on June 22. As a gift for fans, the four-membered group will be performing their new song for the first time at a comeback showcase.
