The open world zombie game, Dying Light, has been reported to have passed 4.5 million sales that the developer Techland is being kept on their toes working on new DLC of 'bigger scope' following the launch of Bozak Horde and planning for Dying Light 2 to replicate success of the first title in the series.
Techland's CEO Paul Marchewka has enthusiastically shared the company plans for Dying Light in his interview with Eurogamer which include new content, mod tools, an expansion and an upcoming sequel, Dying Light 2.
"A significant amount of people have finished the game, and they want new content, to keep going," Marchewka said while also clarifying that Hellraid is still in the works.
"We wanted to be fair with the fans so we wanted to send a clear message, especially as a lot of the people were expecting new things coming from Hellraid at E3 and Gamescom. We decided to take the pressure away," he added.
"Once we deliver everything we want [for Dying Light], probably by the - I don't know - end of the third quarter this year, we will then maybe start to send some new [Hellraid] materials or informations or thinking about what's the release date, something like that. There is nothing concrete about this timing.
"But putting on hold means we want some of the resources to concentrate on Dying Light, and once they do what needs to be done we will come back to Hellraid."
Techland boss also revealed that their new title will be receiving future expansion of 'bigger scope' as well as an upcoming Dying Light 2.
"We are thinking about maybe something really of bigger scope," Marchewka confirmed. "Obviously, we're also thinking about how to think about the sequel, what should happen there," he added.
"So a lot of talk going on right now."
The game's first DLC, The Bozak Horde, was launched worldwide on May 29 which allowed players to go back to Harran Stadium to fight off the undead and put the limits of their skills to the test.
Dying Light Bozak Horde DLC is made available to season pass owners or can be purchased separately at $9.99. Fans are definitely in for a treat with the announced future expansion and upcoming Dying Light 2 from Techland.
