"Avengers" star Mark Ruffalo hinted that Bruce Banner and his alter ego, the Hulk, would possibly appear in the "Captain America: Civil War" which is slated to be released on May 6, 2016. The 47-year-old actor has revealed that "Avengers" co-star Robert Downey Jr., who plays the role of Iron Man has invited him in the set of the "Captain America" sequel.
With the cliffhanging conclusion of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" which featured Hulk's departure from the squad, there is no specifics when the Green Goliath will be coming back to save the world. However, there have been rumors circulating that the superhero is set to appear in the 2016 film "Captain America: Civil War".
Mark Ruffalo who portrayed the character of the Hulk has recently teased his comeback in a tweet which eventually started the said rumors. But the actor has responded to these speculations in an interview with The Daily Beast saying he does not know whether he's going to appear in the highly anticipated "Captain America: Civil War." The actor said that "I haven't seen a script, nobody's told me, and I don't have dates. But I can only hope so," he said.
Apart from this, he also admitted hearing the rumor from "Avengers" co-star Robert Downey Jr. "I was talking to Robert Downey the other day, and he said, 'Ruffalo! I heard you're coming out here,' and I said, 'OK! I'll be there,'" he said.
It was noted by International Business Times that William Hurt is already a confirmed cast in the "Captain America: Civil War." Although no further details of his character was disclosed yet, many are speculating that he will become the Red Hulk -the Hulk's rival. With this separate rumor, it is possible that Ruffalo's speculated appearance in the said film will have something to do with Hurt's character.
If the speculations of Ruffalo's appearance in the forthcoming film are true, then Chris Hemsworth's Thor will be the only main Avenger not to appear in "Captain America 3".
According to Design & Trend, the superhero sequel will feature Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Paul Bettany (The Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Frank Grillo (Crossbones), Emily VanCamp (Agent 13), Daniel Brühl (Baron Zemo), Martin Freeman in an unknown role and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man.
"Captain America: Civil War" is set to hit theaters next year, on May 6. As for Mark Ruffalo, he is set to reprise his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the "Avengers 3: Infinity War", which is slated to premiere in 2018.
