Rita Ora has finally spoken up about her messy split with former beau Calvin Harris. The British singer seems to think that she and the producer ended things on a weird note.
According to an interview with Marie Claire, Rita Ora found out the hard way to not mix business with pleasure. The pair dated for over a year before calling it quits. In the interview, the singer opened up about what went wrong about the relationship.
"There was a reason why I split up with him. And there was a reason why I'm at this point in my life where I feel like I have so much musical freedom, and I don't have to explain myself to anybody... It was more of a thing where I was in awe," Rita admitted.
"I was at that point in my relationship where I felt he could do no wrong." she added.
Calvin Harris, who is currently dating Taylor Swift was responsible for writing and producing Rita's song "I Will Never Let You Down" . Ironically, it was at this point when things took a turn for the worst in the relationship.
Ora would later say that Calvin did let her down and that everything felt surreal. Even now, the singer says she still feels a bit betrayed."I thought he had my back and that he'd never steer me wrong," she said. "But then 'I Will Never Let You Down' came out, and everything started to go a bit weird. I don't know if it was because business was mixed with personal or what."
While the two had an amicable breakup, with Calvin even addressing Rita as a "beautiful woman" Rita could not help but feel a bit weirded out now that Calvin has moved on and is dating Taylor Swift.
"I'm not afraid to admit that, you know. I'm not embarrassed to admit that. I just hope it's not a never-ending cycle. Sometimes love just makes you feel crazy. And that feeling that we have as girls, just to have that feeling, even for five seconds, it's like crack. I mean, don't compare it to that, but you know what I mean. It's like comfort eating." she admitted.
Let's hope that she and Taylor Swift won't have any "Bad Blood."
