The biggest question for the next season of NCIS is: Will Jethro Gibbs live? CBS finally announced the premiere date of NCIS Season 13. Continue reading for more NCIS Season 13 news, updates and premiere date details.

Anything could happen in NCIS. Anyone who is a fan of the show knows that. No one knows what's going to happen next. Even Mark Harmon, who plays the role of Jethro Gibbs, doesn't if his own character is going to live next season.

Appearing in the The Late Late Show with James Corden, Harmon told Corden that the show "births characters leaving."

"This show births characters leaving, it always has," says Harmon to host James Corden. He added, "I think it keeps actors healthy. It's not my choice, number one, but I think anyone is replaceable."

For fans of Gibbs, this is not a good sign at all. But many believe that writers are stupid to kill off Gibbs' character in NCIS Season 5.

Even Corden believe that it's impossible for Harmon to get sacked from the show, who was always been in NCIS since the beginning.

In which Harmon replied, "Would they sack you? Yeah, maybe."

NCIS executive producer Gary Glasberg said in an interview that "Regardless of the outcome, any time that Gibbs or one of our family members is in danger or injured, it significantly affects everyone. We'll have to see the long-term effects and the psychological effects, but they'll undoubtedly, as they always are, be there for each other. Then we'll see where it takes [us] as we move forward to the coming episode."

This probably means that now that Gibbs is down in Afghanistan, DiNozzo will most likely take the lead on their mission and case there.

Fans need not agitate because CBS has finally announced the premiere date of NCIS Season 13.

Your questions will be answered in NCIS Season 13 on CBS in September 22, 2015.
