Project Cars developer, Slightly Mad Studios, has officially confirmed the first major DLC, the incredible Racing Icons Car Pack is now available including the new ON DEMAND free DLC service plus the newly released Patch 1.4.
VG 24/7 reports that Project CARS On Demand's goal is to enable players to opt for the cars and and tracks for free.The said service feature brings in "continual free updates that improve and expand upon the original core game, free cars and vehicle liveries delivered at no extra charge, and additional content made available without the usual obligation to purchase a long-term season pass."
Last month, players have got early access to a $3.4m Lykan Hypersport and ten free community-created liveries. The game's DLCs will be released all throughout this year. Fans can go to Project Cars site to get more details on what to expect more from the racing sim title.
Meanwhile, the latest patch 1.4 of Project Cars is now out on all major platforms offering tons of fixes like removing the "Ghosting" effect from the PS4 version and improving the game's performance.
On the Project CARS official forum, Game Director Stephen Viljoen outlined the AI patch notes as well as other tweaking performance bugs which include the 5-6%" performance improvement on the Xbox One and better CPU performance on the PS4.
- The AI loss of grip that results from tyre degradation as a result of wear is now more noticeable.
- The AI will now show much more realistic grip loss when running on slick tyres in the rain.
- First pass improvements on various tracks to enhance the AI performance and ability (Azure Circuit, Donington GP, Watkins Glen, Bathurst, Nordschliefe)

General
- Pagani Monza Club day invitational event - no longer causes the game to crash when using a specific livery on the Pagani Huayra.
- Anisotropic filtering has been increased to help reduce blurry textures.
- Temporal anti-aliasing has been further optimised. This reduces the ghosting effect and additionally gives the player full control via a slider to tweak the resulting image according to personal preference.
- Performance
- All shaders have been rebuilt using new shader compiler, giving a significant performance boost in some areas.
- CPU performance gains due to new more aggressive code optimisations.
Replays
- Improved the smoothness of the sun, moon, stars, and shadow motion when rewinding replays of a race that had a high time acceleration.
Project CARS was first announced to launch on PC and was later confirmed to also release to PS4 and Xbox One consoles last May 20 and Racing Icons Car Pack including On Demand DLC as well as the Patch 1.4 across platforms are now available. .
