A property with a unique character owned by Hollywood actor Johnny Depp is now on listing with an asking price of approximately $25.76million (€ 23.056 million). The "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor plans to move on with his life after selling the estate.
Depp's massive estate of about 37 acre sits near the village of Plan-de-la-Tour. The place was deserted when he purchased it back in 2001 where the structure was originally natural stone, wooden beams and terra-cotta roofs. The property had a dozen buildings including a chapel, bar and restaurant, garage and many more.
Chairman and CEO of Sotheby's International Realty France Alexander Kraft said Depp was all involved in the decorating and designing of the mini village as reported by WSJ. He invested $10 million on renovation to achieve a unique property that reflects his character. Kraft detailed that some of Depp's renovation included converting a chapel into a guest house, a former confessional into a wardrobe, a swimming pool, a gym, an art studio where he does his painting, a romantic hunter's cabin and more. All these including Depp's furniture and some of Depp's belongings adding more value to the property.
Johnny Depp being the famous actor in flamboyant lead roles in Sweeney Todd : The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Alice in Wonderland, Pirates of the Caribbean and more, treated his property as a getaway from the Hollywood hustle, Kraft explains. The place has become his personal space being an ordinary person with simply joy in life with his family. After all, he first purchased the village during his relationship with French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis.
Alexander Kraft narrated that Johnny has decided to sell the Plan de la Tour - a property to close this chapter of his life and plans to move on. He hopes that someone else will enjoy the property as much as he did and bring him or her the same happiness it brought him.
After his recent marriage with American model and actress Amber Heard, 52 year old Depp had been on hectic schedule filming for the 5th of the series of the Pirates of the Caribbean and Alice in Wonderland 2, bidding him time away from his home. Both movies are anticipated to be released July and May of 2015 respectively.
