"Once Upon A Time" Season 5 is deemed to be a totally different season as compared to the first four seasons of the series due to the fact that Jennifer Morrison's Emma Swan will become the Dark One. She has been the "savior" of Storybrooke for the past four seasons so she is already preparing for this 360-degree change.
In a report by Christian Today, the "Once Upon A Time" actress was interviewed recently and she talked about what she is doing in order to make the switch believable. She shared that in building "Dark Emma" she has been doing a lot of research from mythology books and old fairy tale books. Morrison pointed out that she has been looking at the history of Swans and the etymology of the name.
Morrison also talked about what her views are about playing a villain's role. She noted that it is fun to play as it is fun to venture into something new since she has been the goodie in all previous seasons of the ABC series. She continued to say, "It's so rare to go into season 5 of a show and feel like a character is evolving and changing at such a drastic pace that I really get stretched and challenged on a daily basis."
Emma Swan became the Dark One after she sacrificed herself in order to give Regina, also known as the Evil Queen, her much-deserved happy ever after with Robin. However, Zelena, the witch responsible for Swan becoming the Dark One, will be controlling Morrison's character in order to make Regina's life miserable, IBTimes reported.
The only way to make Emma Swan return to normal, Merlin, a wizard, will have to be part of the show. In line with this, Fashion & Style reported that ABC is currently looking for the perfect actor who will be playing the role of this character. The top five actors that ABC could possibly cast for the role are Idris Elba, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Alfred Enoch, David Oyelowo, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Aside from Emma Swan's change from the savior to the Dark One, "Once Upon A Time's" Season 5 will also be focusing on Rumple's past. The much-awaited series is returning on your T.V. screens by September 27.
