Quantum Break Release Set in Spring 2016; Remedy Entertainment Reveal Big Announcements at Gamescom this August

By

Quantum Break, which is the much-anticipated time-travel third-person shooter from Remedy Entertainment, is likely to give big reveals in the Gamescom event in August. It was clear that E3 2015 was not yet the time to divulge details about the game as several reports have already primed fans about this skip days prior to the expo. At the same time, there is a lot of confidence in the Xbox One title as the soon-to-be former CEO of the developer says that the title will be an amazing piece of work.

The Xbox boss, Phil Spencer noted that the missing games in the E3 event, namely Quantum Break, Crackdown, and Scalebound, will be making appearances in the Gamescom to be held in August.

In the same report, it was mentioned that Remedy Entertainment already announced that the release date of their third-person shooter would be delayed. Shannon Loftis, from Microsoft, said, "With so many Xbox games launching this year, moving Quantum Break to 2016 extends our incredible portfolio into next year with a monster new IP."

At the same time, Sam Lake, who is the developer and director for Quantum Break, shared some thoughts on the delay of the release date. He notes how proud he is that the title is included in the Xbox One roster.

In relation to this, he expresses his gratitude to the supporters of the game for their patience. He also assures that the extended time will be used to further improve the game to make it a standout when it comes out.

Earlier this month, Matias Myllyrinne, the soon-to-be former CEO of Remedy Games, had somewhat of a farewell message on the developer's main site. Regarding the shooter title, he said, "The studio is in good standing and will go on to great things. Quantum Break looks amazing and the team is working hard to build it into the game that you deserve. It will be worthy of the Remedy brand. We are yet to see Remedy's best game."

Quantum Break is expected to have a release date sometime in the Spring of 2016. The Remedy Games title will have big reveals in Gamescom 2015 in August, while still having plenty of time to be polished later on. Fans should check the site out once in a while for new updates.
