Fans were very happy after Fox have confirmed the 'Gotham' season 2 renewal. The announcement was a little surprise because the Batman origin has performed steadily since its strong premiere, averaging between six and seven million viewers per episode. The first announcement was that it will have 16 episodes, but it was later reported that the 22 episodes were ordered by the network.

Meanwhile, fans can definitely expect more of Joker during the sophomore season of 'Gotham'. Showrunner Bruno Heller told The Hollywood Reporter, "We're going to find out how the hell Jerome, the proto-Joker we met earlier in this season, connects with the Joker as people known him," Heller adds, "That's the big focus of the beginning of the second season. We're going to tell the story of how the Joker came to be...That's teaser enough, I think."
At this time, the show has not dropped the names for the said villains. Perhaps, they are still searching for the right actor who could fit in the requirements for Amygdala, which describes as "hulking mountain of a man, with a bald or shaven head" in his 30s to fit the bill. And for Joker, who is "intelligent, cultured, and highly articulate...extremely attractive, both seductive and threatening," male and a female described as "a sexy knock-out."
