Some of Spider-Man's worst enemies are to team up for Sinister Six but reports suggest that it might not be an entirely bad news for Spider-Man as he is also rumored to be part of the group. Filming for the movie might be in Vancouver, according to a source.
Details about Sinister Six reportedly leaked and revealed the initial plans for the movie. The villain group, reported to be made up of Doctor Octopus, the Vulture, Sandman, Mysterio, and Black Cat. Spider-Man too might also appear in the movie and might even be the group's sixth member.
Among all the members, Doctor Octopus will reportedly hold a big role, as the character that people will hope to turn to the good side, but still end up being Spider-Man's rival.
"The partnership between Spidey and Doc Ock was something O'Connor suggested should have greater emphasis, comparing and contrasting Otto Octavious' story arc to that of Michael Corleone in The Godfather trilogy:
I think Michael Corleone is the greatest birth of villain/ protagonist as villain...not sure it exactly analagous to Ock but I like the idea of Ock as a character you are totally rooting for even though he is doing bad things...and obviously the transformation from innocence to experience. Also both characters are essentially motivated by family.
Second I was thinking about the iconic rivalry btw Ock and Spidey and I think it would be great if after Spidey helps Ock, And you really feel they are friends and want them to be on the same side Ock has to do something that makes Spidey and the audience realize that they will never be able to be on the same side again...b/c the birth of Doc Ock story is only complete if you end it with the establishment of the iconic Spidey rivalry," the leaked details read.
But although there are rumors about Spider-Man joining the team, Sony seems to be considering a plan B, if ever the web-slinging hero does not get included in the group. According to reports, Sony is considering the idea of getting Matt Damon for the film,
Even though there are no official reports about the progress of the movie yet, Sony Brazil released a photo showing the Vultures wings and Doctor Ock's tentacles in their Facebook page. Many interpreted this as an assurance that the film will really hit the big screen soon.
Another reported proof that the movie is under way is the anonymous tweet which said that the movie might be filmed in Vancouver and that somebody who worked in Planet of the Apes wants it done. Unfortunately, the tweet was later deleted and the account disappeared on Twitter.
Sinister Six is set to be directed by Drew Goddard who also work on the film's screenplay. It is set to be produced by Avi Arad and Matthew Tolmach. Sinister Six had been slated for release on November 11, 2016.
