The Elder Scrolls Online post release patch is already available for the PlayStation 4, with the one for the Xbox One to be live soon. After the release of the game from Developer ZeniMax Online Studios, there have been several bugs, like those of crashes, problems in the animation, in combat and gameplay, among other aspects. The file size for the update has also become a shock among fans due to it being massive.
The most recent patch for Elder Scrolls Online comes in a whopping 15.9GB. The official Twitter page of the title comments in a post, "We understand that the patch size is frustrating and are working to ensure future #ESOTU PS4 patches are not cumulative." That being said, the reason for the size is because it also includes the first three releases.
As mentioned in an article from a dedicated PS website, those experiencing slow downloads should acquire the file during off-peak hours to speed things up. The said update for PS4 is now called 1.04.
Overall, the developers of Elder Scrolls Online note that the patch enhances the game performance, fixes in-game crashes, and improves the queue system screen. A lengthy list of the updates included in the download are provided for the different aspects. For one thing, the issue when teleporting to a keep in Cyrodil or towards a forward camp has been fixed.
In terms of the combat, the frequency for when the player would run into an invisible non-playable character has been decreased. However, it was noted that this is still currently being worked on, so the problem may be encountered once in a while, albeit less often.
The Elder Scrolls Online post release patch includes a lot of fixes to both the gameplay for the PlayStation 4 as well as the Xbox One. The version for the latter is labelled 1.0.0.5, which will be available very soon. Players should expect smoother gaming experience once the update has been used.
