Dying Light Developer Techland Comes Up With Their Own Beverage Promo, Features 'Drink For DLC' Campaign And Game Perks

By

Just this Wednesday morning, Red Bull, together with Destiny publisher, Activision, sent out a press release about their most recent partnership. Destiny teamed up with the energy drink Red Bull to give Red Bull drinkers in North America XP boost items and an advance and exclusive access to the expansion of Bungie's new Taken King quest that will be released on September 1 of this year, as noted on the Red Bull website.

Red Bull drinkers who are looking forward to play the new quest will have to purchase specially designed four-pack Red Bull cans with the access codes inside them. According to the Red Bull website, multiple codes can be redeemed but only one code can be used at a time. Those who don't have the code will have to wait until its release on January 1, 2016. Codes can be used from July 1 until July 31, 2015 only as noted on the Red Bull website.

Dying Light developer Techland, on the other hand, have responded to the Destiny and Red Bull promotion by coming up with their own beverage-related hype. Their playful marketing take on this was announced in Dying Light's Twitter account, which came in with a witty post.

"Post a picture of you drinking a glass of water with the tag #DrinkingRightDyingLight and get your code for a premium weapon docket," as it was noted on the Dying Light promotional poster. They also added, "Ever stopped to wonder how extremely awesome water is? It's natural, vegan, and sugar-free. It's also delicious and good for your health. And even better, it's basically free."

Dying Light tweeted, "We're jumping on the latest trend in game marketing." Techland won't be giving access codes to new zombie quests but they will provide new weapon packs in Dying Light for basically anyone who will tweet a picture of himself drinking a glass of water. According to Eurogamer.net, the codes will be distributed soon at dockets.dyinglightgame.com.

Techland has brought it up a notch, reports PC Gamer, the game developer released a full on 'Drink For DLC' campaign. Same rules apply but hashtag is now 'DrinkForDLC' and the campaign offers multiple stretch goals and game perks. No information on the DLC contents was provided.

Knowing that water is basically free and accessible almost everywhere, a lot of Dying Light fans have already tweeted in their pictures while drinking a glass of H2O. Not only is this an awesome deal, but it's also a healthy, good one.
