Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire Coming This Fall, Free For All Subscribers

The fifth Digital Expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic was revealed last E3 2015 at EA's press conference with a stunning game trailer to go with the reveal. The Digital Expansion will be released this coming October 27 but the good news is that it is free for all subscribers of Star Wars: The Old Republic but there's some requirements that need to be met in order to play the story.

According to reports from Shacknews, The Knights of the Fallen Empire update is pure BioWare story, reminiscent of the old KOTOR days. The story will fast-forward several years after the events of Shadow of Revan and follow a new conflict against an entirely new antagonistic force that has devastated both the Republic and the Empire. The trailer allowed us to get an idea on what the story will be about.

Here is the description from the game's official website: "Step into an epic story-driven adventure as your character becomes The Outlander, a veteran of the Great Galactic War. A third faction threatens the galaxy as we know it, and your choices will determine the fate of both the Sith Empire and Galactic Republic..."

Although the description alone is already enough to get us excited, IGN reports that players will get the expansion for free if they are a subscriber. Even if you need to be level 60 to play, BioWare says that you can make a level 60 character to play the story but you won't be able to play older stories. Newbies rejoice because they will be taught on how to use their character so they can reach the max level cap at 65. Knights of the Fallen Empire will be episodic and the releases of other episodes won't take very long.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire is the 5th expansion to the MMO game Star Wars: The Old Republic for the PC. The expansion will be free for all subscribers and it will be released this coming October 27, 2015.
