Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain's voice actor Troy Baker has asked fans to reserve judgement on Hideo Kojima's decision to cast Kiefer Sutherland as Snake until they play the game this coming September.
Reports say that voice actor Troy Baker who voices Revolver Ocelot in the game gave his thoughts about Kojima's decision to cast Kiefer Sutherland as Big Boss during a Q&A panel at Indy Popcon 2015 where he talked about Sutherland's performance and explained that he was glad that he wasn't Snake.
"To his credit, Kiefer Sutherland knocked it out of the freaking park, and he came in and he put the work in...showed up, rolled up his sleeves and got dirty on this game. So reserve judgement until you play it. You only have like two more months left and trust me it'll be worth it," says Baker in front of the panel.
Many fans disliked Sutherland as a replacement for David Hayter as the voice of Snake but Baker applauded Sutherland's attitude for staying strong.
He also discussed his admiration for Kojima but declined to comment what's going on between Kojima and Konami, explaining, "I don't know what's going on at Konami, but I love Kojima, and I love him as a dude."
"I respect him as a game maker, as really one of the first cinematic game makers that we had, someone that really understood in a very Sergio Leone spaghetti western way of making film in a game, and for giving us one of the greatest video game characters ever in the multiple iterations of Snake," added Baker about Kojima.
Early this year Troy Baker was also interviewed by Kinda Funny Games about Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain which he describes how massive the game is. "It may be the biggest game I've ever seen. Just in terms of everything that you can do," he said where he even compared the game to Skyrim, where he said that Skyrim looks like an afternoon playpen next to it.
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will be released on September 1 simultaneously worldwide on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
