Previous rumours are still circling around suggesting that Mafia 3 is on its way for release.
In fact, Daily Changes reported that Take-Two Interactive has already registered some domains for Mafia 3. Apparently, there were domain registrations associated with 'Mafia 3' in severs such as Take2Games.com and RockstarGames.com.
NeoGAF also noted four different domains associated with "Mafia 3." This leads to further rumors regarding an imminent release will be done by a third party. Perhaps, the Take-Two Interactive shall take charge in the announcement of the release.
Recently, an Electronic Entertainment Expo was held from June 16 to 18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Several game analysts Mafia fanatics were excited about the said event and expected more details about "Mafia 3." Participants even thought that 2K Games will use the event to officially announce its release. Unfortunately, fans were disappointed not hearing any news.
"Mafia 3" rumors started in March 2012, when sources claim that its development will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Crossmap even reported that it will have three new characters - Franklin, Micky and Tony. It claimed a leaked report of 2K's "Casting for Untitled Video Game" which might have involved the new set of characters. More recently, Crossmap's latest report also added that "Mafia 3" will be set in Louissiana and that a trailer will be released not later than March 31 next year.
Voice actor Rick Pasqualone who played Vito Scaletta in "Mafia 2" also teased fans in Twitter with, "Might have some Mafia news very soon!" The voice actor also replied to a fan whose tweet was "make Mafia 3," with "Might have some exciting news very soon."
"Mafia 2" was released nearly five years ago. GamesCom, the next major gaming event, will be held this coming August in Germany. Fans hope this will finally be the venue for the official announcement on Mafia's third installation release.
