Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Update: Free DLC 'Where The Cat And Wolf Play' Released

By

Earlier this week, it was announced that another free DLC in "Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is to be released as part of its free DLC campaign. Week 7's free DLC is another quest called, "Where The Cat And Wolf Play." Compared with the previous weeks where two DLCs were released, this week will feature a single quest

The announcement was made by "Witcher 3" developer CD Projekt RED. This week's free DLC is 15th out of the 16 promised free DLCs, leaving only one left for free users. The last among those is expected on the first week of July. The announcement was also seen in Witcher's official Twitter page that said, "A new quest "Where The Cat And Wolf Play" is the new FREE DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt this week. #TheWitcher."

Together with the announcement, the quest is believed to be a Witcher contract. GameSpot also revealed the quest's official description, "Explore a forgotten village and discover its terrifying secret. Find out who or what slaughtered its inhabitants and use all your witcher skills to confront this mysterious force."

Reports say that the update, the Witcher contract is to be found in Oreton village. Players will have to fight against a monster called "spook" who disrupts the peaceful inhabitants of Honorton City. Geralt is part of the Wolf School of Witchers. The game's main character wears a medallion to represent his school. Clearly, the medallion featured in the DLC promo contradicts this fact. Does this mean a new plot twist is expected in this week's free DLC?

After the release of all 16 free DLCs, two major expansions will be made. According to IGN News, the two paid add-ons, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, are set to launch in October and in the early quarter of 2016, respectively. The former will cost $9.99 while the latter $19.99. However, if bought together, the expansions will only cost $25.

In other Witcher-related news, CD Projekt RED Communsity Coordinator Marcin Momot teased fans in an official forum about an upcoming project. "I won't get into super details here but something is in the works and it should please a lot of people," he revealed.

"Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is out and available in PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Clear out your schedules because "Witcher 3" is said to be "200+" hours long.
