Showtime's critically-acclaimed drama 'The Affair' is back for another season. Despite the unannounced premiere date, the network has recently released its trailer for the upcoming season.
'The Affair' season 2 trailer suggests that things could get worse both present and past, as Noah gets impossible bail for Scotty's death. It also poses tough question by Ruth Wilson's Alison, "Do you honestly think that things just work out for the best? That true love conquers all?"
TVLine speculates that Alison and Noah's relationship will be less romantic than it did in the first season, as what 'The Affair' season 2 trailer has shown. Noah was arrested and Alison cried in the shower. And, Noah's estranged wife, Helen (Maura Tierney), demands that Alison steer clear of her children, and Alison's hubby, Cole (Joshua Jackson).

Yahoo TV reports that 'Mistresses' co-star Jennifer Esposito will be guesting 'The Affair' Season 2. She is set to play Noah's sister named Nina Parla. Esposito's character is described as frank. It is speculated that Noah will not expect her presence.
Yahoo TV adds that the teaser for 'The Affair' promises some answers to the mystery of Scotty Lockhart's murder.
Elsewhere, 'Pretty Little Liars' actress Miranda Rae Mayo will play a new love interest for Joshua Jackson's Cole, while Joanna Gleason and Richard Schiff are also joining the cast. Gleason will play the editor of a well-known publisher, while Schiff will take the role of Bruce (Gotham star John Doman)'s attorney Jon Gottlief.
