The Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, is soon to hit theaters and author JK Rowling teased about the movie's screenplay through her twitter header. Katherine Waterston is on board for the film and is set star in the lead role while actor Ezra Miller is rumored to join the cast as Kredan.
Fantastic Beasts' story, set 70 years before Harry Potter entered the magic scene, will reportedly revolve around the magizoologist, Newt Scamander, who dedicates his life embarks on an adventure to search and document magical creatures. In his stop at New York, he meets the witch Porpentina, or simply called Tina, who becomes his love interest and eventually his wife.
Author, and now the screenwriter for the book's movie adaptation, JK Rowling, has teased a little about the upcoming film through her twitter header which was a picture of big letters K and R on top of various sheets and notes. Although it did not reveal a lot as most words were hidden under the letters, the biggest clue it provided is that, there might be a character in the movie named Jacob. Rumors have swirled suggesting that Jacob might be Newt's rival in the story.
Meanwhile, the movie's list of cast members is slowly being filled in as Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston are officially on board as Newt Scamander and the with Porpentina. The two will be the main characters in the first movie of the proposed trilogy.
Actor Robert Lindsay also expressed his interest in being part of the movie by directly tweeting to JK Rowling. "@jk_rowling any decent role for ageing mildly comedic actor currently bearded but willing to shave?" Lindsay tweeted, to which Rowling replied, ".@RobertLindsay I'll have a word with David Yates. Don't touch the beard (not because of the role - I just like beards)."
The Perks of Being a Wallflower actor Ezra Miller might also join the cast as he is reportedly in talks for a certain role. Rumor mill suggests that Miller is set to play the role of Kredan who is one of the people with magic powers that Newt meets during his travel.
Many fans are excited for the upcoming film especially because the magical hidden society will be familiar to those who have read or watched the Harry Potter series as JK Rowling revealed.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set to be directed by David Yates, and to be produced by Neil Blair, David Heyman, Steve Kloves, Lionel Wilgram, JK Rowling, and will be executive produced by Tim Lewis. It is set to hit theaters in November 2016.
