Many fans would agree that 'Community' Season 6 was different than the previous episodes. After all, the writers took the advantage of benefits of streaming the show online unlike the TV screens. However, speculations are surfacing around the internet that it may be the last of the series. But, previous reports reveal that the discussion for Season 7 is still on going, as well as the possible movie spinoff.
Many fans thought that it was the end for the series after NBC cancelled the sixth season of 'Community'. But thanks to Yahoo!, the show was given a new home online.
Based on 'Community' season 6 review made by IGN, the said season was different than the previous ones. The writers did really well in terms of revamping the cast. Of course, it has to be that way since restrictions were lesser than of TV screens. It is added that the sixth season was the last of the series as it ended like the last one. Many viewers agreed that it ended perfectly.
However, Slashfilm reports that Yahoo! is already in discussions about the possibility of Season 7. Although no official announcements have been made by the 'Community' fate, other reports hinting that Season 7 may be happening, as Yahoo and Sony Pictures TV are in conversation.
Series star Joel McHale chatted with Esquire about the beloved sitcom, and said he'd expect a movie follow-up to come at some point down the line. McHale said that Season 7 is not likely to happen because the cast contracts for only six seasons and they have to make new deal if the series will continue. And season 7 might be expensive proposition than the sixth season.
He adds that instead of season 7, a movie spinoff or a follow up is more likely to happen only if series creator Dan Harmon writes the script. McHale pointed out that the cast members are willing to do the movie and it will be bigger than Pitch Perfect 2.
