Watch Dogs 2 is still lacking in a lot of gameplay details and announcements, that Ubisoft did not even showcase it in their E3 presentation. Despite being mum, this title needs to make a lot of improvements as gamers have been using it as a label for games that make good previews that don't translate to the real thing. Current reports verge on expectations as well as suggestions to make it a whole lot better for the sequel to make up for shortcomings.
It was mentioned here in this website that Watch Dogs 2 publisher, Ubisoft is one to "overdress" titles by having the best trailers and breathtaking gameplay, but not for the game itself. This was noted to happen evidently for the original release of the said game, which disappointed a lot of expecting fans. While this would be the case, it is noted that some gamers are still hoping for a better turnout in the next game.
In another report, Kotaku talks about an "honest trailer" for Watch Dogs 2. Although Arkham Knight was the initial title to preview in this segment, it was decided that it still has a lot of work to do so Ubisoft's game will take the spot first. It was noted that the original game had a lot of ambitious features as well as contradicting elements.
An example mentioned would be the explosion of steam pipes as well as the hacking mechanics. The demo during the Electronic Entertainment Expo also had way better graphics than the one in-game. This further notes the negative feedback that the title has been getting.
Moreover, Tom Clancy's The Division has been compared to Watch Dogs, considering that it will be arriving early in 2016 already. According to a recent report, fans are hoping that The Division would not end up as a "Watch Dogs fiasco." Of course, the suggestion for this would be to scale down the expectations being set by Ubisoft.
This can be done by creating trailers and demos that really equate to the real experience of the game. While Watch Dogs 2 is still in its inception, its publisher, Ubisoft, should be keen with how they reach out to fans so that they will be satisfied with the game once it releases.
